Default Black Chroming existing chrome wheels?

Is there a way to powdercoat a black chrome finish on some chrome wheels? I may be purchasing a set of chrome ZR1 wheels, and thought about doing the spokes in black chrome, leaving the rest of the wheel chrome. All I would have to pay for is the powder, my uncle owns a shop that does powdercoating.

They make a spray that goes on the chrome but I've never used it, do some research on that. You just need to clean the wheel VERY good and it sticks to the chrome. PLEASE post pictures when you get it done, I'd like to do this myself but have never seen what it looks like.

I would rather NOT use a rattle can on these wheels. I was thinking more of Eastwood's Black Chrome powder. Does anyone have any experience with this?

That's a lot of work and money to spend on ZR1 wheels IMO, but that would be a much better route.

funny you ask this cus I have c6 blk chrome rims and I messed up one rim so I wanted to do the lip in flat blk or gloss blk. I called a powder coating place about having this done and the worry is the chrome popping off from the heat so the guy said NO.

so I will have them painted on

Well with what I'm selling my current wheels for vs the deal I'm getting on the ZR1's, I'm pretty much getting the wheels free, so it's like going from 56mm 9" wheels to 38mm 9.5/36mm 11" wheels, better handling and traction for free.

someone on here did it awhile ago, turned out in my opinion. they almost had a greenish tint to them. i would recommend getting them done professionally.

If that's the case then I'm not going to mess with it.
