Anyone ever powdercoated their block and heads?

The heads will be fine, but have them coated before any port work or machining, as to the block, i know it can take it, but you have to be careful that the shop knows how to do the LS1 blocks, or your cylinder liners will fall out, since they expand at a different rate than the block.

My powder paint shop has a powdered LS1 block.. its in blue and is beautiful.. I will snap a pic of it next time im there <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Should be no problem doing it..

Why is it important to have the heads coated before machining? It is too late for that; I bought these TEA FI heads for a second engine I am building.

What needs to be done to prevent the liners from falling out of the block? This is a new LS1/LS6 block I got from valvegod and already has the cam bearings pressed in. Will this be a problem?

I am leaning toward a silver vein that has a little texture to it.

I am a little concerned about warpage. Is this an issue or will they take 400 degrees with no problems?
