Autozone PC Test
Well today I pulled the trigger on a PC type orbital polisher from autozone. Its made a company called shurhold. Ill tell ya what its a pretty nice piece. Has all the same features as the porter cable including variable speed, a carrying bag and a 5inch velcro backing plate and 2 handles. Cost was 149.00. I also bought a 6 pack of LC pads from autogeek since its right down the way from me.
Now I've been detailing for quite some time now and have always used my makita buffer to do cars and my work has always been nice but just the little things I've noticed have always kinda drove me a little nuts. Lol. I will say this my first time using one and I am very impressed with the results it gave.
The test car was my black and blue flamed SS. Its got a very nice paint job about 4000 or so. But just like any detailer I was curious to see if it would come out better.
1. Vibrant cut 1500 compound with orange LC pad
2. Deep ebony polish with black LC pad
3. Mcguires show car glaze with blue LC pad.
4. Collonite insulator was with red LC pad.
I am def impressed with the results. Sorry but I don't have any great pics due to sunlight but here is one.

Sweet, I had no idea they had one. I think my PC is on it's last leg, it's had 6 years of pretty hard use about every other weekend. It's starting to make some noise. Looks nice!

Well just looking around on Google (not even on the major detail supply sites) you can get a genuine Porter Cable XP for around $115 + shipping, or even free shipping if you look in the right place. I just don't get spending more money on a rebadged and possibly inferior DA.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it worked for the OP, but just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah being that I am away for a month at a time for my job when I saw this I was home for the weekend and wanted then and there. It also worked out for me that autogeek is only a 20 min ride so I went over there and picked up the lc pads.
Yes I could of got a porter cable for 120 or so but like stated I would of had to wait and the price difference at autogeek for a package deal with pads and such was about the same. I've got 185.00 into the pc and 6 pads.
