Question T-Top stuck!

It was finally nice enough this weekend to remove the t-tops and wouldn't you know,I can't get them out. The previous owner had the car sitting for a long time, so I shouldn't have been suprised. The locks turn fine, but the handles only move about half of what they should to release. I know if I force the handles any harder they will break. I know if I can get them off I can remove the end screws and lube everything up, but is there anyway to lube them still on the car?
