Default Cleaning Valve covers?

I am installing LT's and I have all my coil packs off. What is something good to use on the valve covers and coil packs. Mainly the valve covers. 160,000 mile dirty.

Pull the valve covers off and spray'em with brake cleaner, then get to scrubbing

I just didn't know if there was something that I shouldn't use on them. I doubt I will pull them off as I have enough to do with motor mounts and installing LT's.
My "little" projects seem to be stacking up and I am having LS1 withdrawls. lol

Prolly just wipe the coil packs down with a rag. They aren't to bad. The guy that had the car before me didn't believe in cleaning the engine bay apparently. Its not that damn difficult to pull the coil packs off and clean.

thanks for the help!

If you leave them on, spray some degreaser on a rag and wipe them down

i would pull them clean them ,prep and paint, you will be happy you did, its easier to do thing like painting coils, brackets, valve covers etc when there all ready off lol, search for pics its a nice lil touch you can do that will make the engine bay look better, the black wrinkle stuff also imo looks great on valve covers,if you have the traction control relocate that behind the pcm ,another very easy mod that looks great.
