Question Want to get a pillar pod

I want to get a pillar pod. I don't have nitrous or FI, but I think that they look cool and eventually I will have either. So for now should I go 2 or 3 gauge? I like 3 gauge, but what gauges do I fill the pillar with? What's best since I have the normal oil pressure etc? What about air fuel? Could it be useful when I get my header full exhaust intake tune? Kinda confusing paragraph, thanks for your input

I want one too but I don't like that you can see the screws or the little caps that cover the screws I wish they made a complete replacement pillar with the pods

Try 3m extra strength double sided tape...and you won't have screws showing..or wrap it with fabric..

A wideband is always nice... but on an all motor car with no spray or boost or anything i dont really see the need for anymore than one.

If I remember correctly, 6LE makes a full replacement 2 or 3 pod piller piece.

For the OP, wideband and trans temp might be good for you.

Would there be any advantages of having a trans temp or wideband, I mean do I need them, could I use them?

Contact DOUBLEMODS on here. I know for a fact he makes a replacement panel with the gauge pod.

Well you have an automatic so the temp gauge would be alright, especially if you take it to the strip and that way you can keep an eye on how hot it's getting. If you end up doing headers later on, the wideband wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I just bought LTs ory and thunderbolt highflow cats to weld in. also the headers are race air and egr delete. So I have to get them tuned out. Sorry to sound repetitive but why would it be necessary to have a Trans temp gauge because I have an auto? Whats the significance of having auto mean when it comes to Trans temp? would a wide band help with my header air and egr tuneout?

He means it'd be good to monitor trans temps if you have an aftermarket stall, which is anything higher than stock.

HEAT Kills transmissions ==so if your going to get a pillar pod ===it is a good idea to monitor your transmission temp especially when you thrash on it especially with aftermarket convertors etc etc etc. You can monitor it now without a trans cooler and when you install a cooler see the diffrence. HEAT in a transmission is the factor that destroys them!!!

Just saw this and thought i would bring it back up. I check 6LE and they didn't have any a-pillar pods. Anywhere else to get a good factory looking replacement that will hold 2-3 gauges?

Your only two options as far as I know are the full replacement panel that DD mods sells, or the one that goes over your factory piece that you can get from several different places. I got mine from WS6Store

where do you get the full replacement panel that "DD mods" sells? I am more interested in a full replacement piece. I tried PMing that DOUBLEDMODS user name but i dont think it worked.

So far i have found two different places that make ones that go over the factor piece. Autometer and Glow Shift. I'm curious, between these two which is better and which is a better fit and finish? I really dont like the idea of drilling into the old pillar to hold the gauge pods on.

Also i have a 2002 with ebony interior, do their black ones match the interior color or will i need to paint it?

I have a glowshift and it fits well, definitely not as nice as a full replacement piece, but your not gonna find one of those

If you have the stock converter in the car I would worry about changing that before you put unneeded gauges in the car for the sake of looking cool.

Pillar pods on a stock car is kinda like a 4" cowl hood on a stock car to me.

Once you get a good stall converter (which will make the car faster than headers will) you will have a good use for a trans temp gauge if you still want some gauges.
