coil covers made from sbc valve cover idea
So I have never been a huge fan of the looks of our coils on the valve covers but hate the look of the vette fuel rail covers so I never really did anything about it. I have seen a few different types of covers that look like big valve covers that sit on top and hide them. Some of these actually do look pretty good but man they are pricey. I can’t see myself paying $200+ for a fake plastic valve cover to hide the coils. So anyway, I was sitting her thinking, what if I took some old school sbc valve covers and modified them to cover the coils. Turns out that Im not the only one to think about this and found a few pics here and there on the web. Im currently eyeing some cheap ones on ebay and if I get them Ill take a stab at this and see how it turns out. Has anyone on here done this before? If so please post pics and or advice about them. Thanks!
Heres a couple pics I found with this done in a first gen Camaro with an LS1 swap.

I just won the ebay auction and scooped up a set of used ones for only $2.50 plus shipping! A whole lot better than $200-$300 for plastic ones.
Lets just hope they work out so this will be an epic win for me.

I'm one of the few that has these covers. The black ones are on my TA but the polished one will be on my SS. Some people like and some haters don't. No matter what, they aren't made anymore and very few have them.
