Default Mad Racing Seats Install...

So I got my seats in yesterday and boy are they comfortable. But I was wondering how you guys have mounted them? Someone said something about mounting the sliders directly to the floor? Is this possible? I don't mind sitting low in the car. I actually prefer it. Or should I just mod the stock **** to work?

It would kinda help if you said what kind of seats they are.

I did. "MAD RACING" is the seat brand. As far as I knew they were a common seat for f bodies. Specific part number is K6-BLK. They are the regular "MAD RACING" cloth covered, memory foam padded, fiberglass seats that come with the universal sliders.

There have been threads on here in the past where people installed Mad Racing Concept (MRC) seats; both the fiberglass-backed one and the one that looks like 6LE's seats.

Some people used manual sliders, some kept the electric sliders.

Google "Mad Racing Concepts" and the first link will be their website. Click on the "Seats" link on the left for pics.

MRC racing seats... they are a ebay vendor, they also have a site

NOT-A-SPONSOR.com.org.gov.net.edu

they are priced awesome, my brother has a cloth set with fiberglass backing.... its quite nice...

and their REAL leather seats are pretty much unbeatable for the price... ide like to see the quality though

vvvv only 400 for a set, pretty sure that includes shipping as well

here are the ones my brother got for his jeep

I have the last ones pictured. Trying to install them on stock brackets and ****. Not working at all. Once I got the stock brackets on the mrc seats, the bolts in the car are about an inch off. I can line one side up but then the other side is to far wide. Pissing me off. Everyone says they are using stock brackets but we can't get this **** to work. Wtf?

I first made 2 cardboard templates in which I drilled holes to align with the holes in the bottom of the new seat. One for the front and one for the back of the seat Then I removed the tracks from the factory seats, then measured how far apart the holes were in the factory seats both side to side, then front to back. I then transferred these measurements to the cardboard templates and marked those holes.

Then I transferred this to steel. I used 2 1/8" thick 3" wide 17-1/4" long plates to mount the factory tracks to my seats. I would recommend making these 6" wide instead of 3". I was able to bolt the seats in place with the 3" wide steel plates, but they would not retract back far enough. Making the plate 6" wide will allow you to bolt the tracks farther forward, thus allowing the seat to slide farther back. I had to go back and rework my 3" plates, adding additional material so that I could mount the tracks farther forward.

I drew up something quickly in paint to illustrate what I did. It isn't to scale or anything and I didn't shift the tracks to the right or left, my drawing just came out that way. It is very similar to what is on the 6 liter website. Maybe this will help you.

Didn't realize this was from last year until I posted. Maybe this will help someone else trying to install these seats.
