Default Underbody Painting and Undercoating

What do you all think is a good product for a show look? I also want someting that cleans easy and has good protection. I know I want the best of both worlds...So, with that said, what do you all think I should use?

I want to do the k-member, axel, underbody..want it to look sharp!

Are you looking for a color? Just wanting to keep it all black? If you're going the black route, you might look into Por 15. Very durable and supposedly stops rust.

Ditto on the POR 15...the stuff is extremely durable...not sure who sells it, though...last time I got it at a swap meet/car show. Another alternative is Eastwood's "chassis black." It's an epoxy paint designed specifically for undercarriages...it's the perfect OEM satin black. My father has used it extensively in the restoration work he has done...it's a very nice product. They're a board sponsor ----->

Go to the Eastwood site on the right side of the board. They have it and other good stuff for the underside.

One stop shopping at Eastwood, Chassis paint, rust prevention paint, I even used their manifold paint on my "Y" pipe, even a selection of colors...

I try to avoid spraying because of the mess, unless you need a really nice finish. Remember most folks do not climb under a car. I rolled on everything I could then used a brush. No question is silly.

If iwere doing it again I would of taped off the brake lines. I tried to leave as much of the stock paint that looked good untouched like the floor pans etc.

POR15 is a great choice for paint also. Just the one stop shopping from Eastwood is fine for me. I buy all of my polishing compounds, buffing wheels etc from them.

Should I use gloss black for the floor pans? And a flat black for the pumpkin and other chassis parts?

Apply with a roller and brush?

Color, do what you want or try and match the orginal parts.

Apply with a roller and brush?
Roll as much as you can then brush it on.

QT will do the entire axle twice and have plenty for the front spindle behind the front rotor. Add floor pans, prob a gallon, it does go far.

Do I need both the Rust inhibitor and the gloss black, or should I go with just one product?
