Cleaning Glue Off A 4th Gen Dash?
So I just bought a new dash and its got a small spot of what the previous owner said was super glue. Now I need to clean it off without melting or discoloring the vinyl around it. Any suggestions on a good cleaner to use?

I had a similar experience with some glue residue left from a tach mounted on my dash. I bought some new blades for a hobby knife and very carefully picked at the glue until it flaked off. I'm not sure of any cleaners that would remove it without somehow changing the look of the actual dash. Maybe someone will chime in with a chemical solution but it doesn't hurt to try the hobby knife.

Regarding the fingernail polish remover, it has to be the Acetone kind. The alternative kind won't dissolve Cyanoacrylate (which is the what is in Super Glue).
However, Acetone is a strong solvent. Definitely try somewhere inconspicuous and be careful. Acetone can eat some plastics and vinyls.

Ya I read that when your using finger nail polish remover, its best to dab it on and not wipe it. It didnt say anything about different types of remover tho. Ill try some under the glove box door and see what happens.
