Waxing headlights . . .

Waxing headlights . . .
So as part of a Christmas gift for my dad, I just got done buffing the headlights on his 2004 Tacoma. Used the 3M kit you get at O'Rielly's, looks pretty spiffy compared to what they looked like before. Not brand new, but unless you look real hard, you wouldn't know the difference between this and a new light. I feel like I could've gotten them a little bit better if the kit included a couple more sanding discs with finer sandpaper and another wet sand disc that was a little bit finer.
Anyways, I feel they look awesome for $15 and an hour's worth of work. I'll post up some pictures later.
I guess my big question is, what can I use to protect them and keep them from turning yellow again? I've used regular old car wax on headlights before, is this a good or bad idea???
