What do you guys recommend to use to clean brake dust/grime off of powder coated calipers and brackets?

Soap, warm water, a sponge and elbow grease. I wouldn't use carb cleaner, brake cleaner or anything abrasive. I have discovered, unfortunately, that those things are very effective at messing up powder coat.

I use wheel cleaner on mine since mine are the factory silver metal color and I haven't gotten around to having them painted yet. I am careful at what a spray and not sit to long so it doesn't mess anything up and in the 4-5 years I have owned the car, nothing has happened yet.

^^ Wheel cleaner works way better than soap and water and i've been using it on my powdered wheels for a while.

Generally any rim cleaner that is not too acidic would work fine. Also some APC (all Purp. cleaner)
