Default Where are your switches located?

I need to mount two switches. One for a fan switch, and one for my electric cut out. I was thinking of putting them in the ashtray, but the fan switch has a tall lever, so it will not fit in there. I was thinking below the lighter for my cut-out, and on the side of the console near my knee for the fan.

I put my electric cutout switch in the center console. It fit right behind the cupholder, mounted horizontally where the change holder was. It was especially nifty because it was a lighted switch, which lit up the center console at night so I could see what I was looking for.

I have all of mine drilled through the underdash (right above my left knee). They work great and light up as well, they kind of add a cool accent to the car. Just be careful if you are going to install a switch with a large lever, it is very easy to break them off with your knee if you don't know they are there.

Hey, that is real nice! I was going to remove the ashtray and put a flat piece in there. Thanks!

If you're wanting to install them in the ashtray, then you could always go with a smaller switch in order for them to fit.

I'm making a custom bezel/plate that will fit in the TCS/Convertible switch plate location. I'm using a factory switch plate so it will pop right in, with an engraved plate on top of that that the switches will be mounted through. I'll probably engrave the trans am logo on it, and what the switches do ie. fans high, fans low above and below the fan switch, etc. I should have a prototype made soon, I'll be sure to post some pics.

I got it from a member of this site. It was a little expensive but well worth it because I didn't have to go through the trouble of making it after all.
