Default Fresh RATTLE CAN paint on my 16" snow wheels

Got my car washed up from all the winter mess we had recently so I thought I would post some pics of my winter wheels in a different light. I already posted a thread in the wheels and tires section of my car in the snow, so here is a bit of a contrast. Here's the quick details; paid 100$ for 4 stock rims wrapped in 245 50 hankooks, bought 2 nexen 225 55 snow tires at wal mart on sale for 60 bucks each. Rattle canned them with 15 bucks of paint. Note, will be putting snow tires on the frt for proper winter setup. One reason I am posting this is because I couldn't find any half decent pics of this setup, so I didn't really want to have to use the stockers, but I ran out of time when the snow hit and I had no choice really, haha. Don't know if I will be running this setup next winter or not, but for now, hey, when you get the right light conditions and angles, I actually kinda like it. Just don't look at the car from the back or from sharp angles, because it can get ugly again real quick.

Thanks, I've been running with chrome for years, but I like the black look alot. I wouldn't mind having my C5 dd's in all black. What I need is 2 or 3 sets of wheels, just to change it up once in a while.

Very very nice indeed. Now, if you dont mind me asking, what kind of spray paint did you use? since im running a flat black, gloss black theme, i want to gloss out my stockers as well to match my sail panel, side view mirrors and berger panel.

I used rustoleum double coverage gloss black and a can of the same brand of clear. The black covers very well, and practically looked done after one coat. I used two coats black, and two coats clear. I'm not even sure it needed clear, but I had bought it anyway so I used it. It looked smooth as glass when I finished them, so much so that you couldn't tell that they were rattle canned. But they lost some of the high gloss smoothness after drying. Maybe just because its rattle can paint, and maybe because I had them back on the car and ouside in the freezing temperatures within an hour of finishing the spraying, haha.

Thanks man, when I bought the car, it had these same style rims in chrome and I couldn't wait to replace them, so it's funny that I'm runnin em again, but feelin better about it.
