Want to go full charcoal, need few advises
My car is a 98 Z, orginally w/ gray cloth, the dash/centerconsole are charcoal, but the doorpanels are two tone, charcoal on the upside, and medium gray lower panel. and after that the whole interior is medium gray,
and i must admit, they greyness of this interior has always bugged me, but it would be so much better if it was ALL charcoal,
last days i've bin working on the interior, i found some nice sporty seats that w/ heavy modifications went in the car, the leather on those seats matches the charcoal spot on. you realy cant see the diffirent sitting inside the car.
here you can see how close the colors are, and this on a sunny day
what i've dicided to do is to try to get rit of that medium gray, and go full charcoal, or as nere that as possible. i think that no 97-00 camaros came that way.
i think that 95 z28's w/dark leather interior came w/ the door panel all charcoal. i found few of those allready, but they where all to worn out, but i am looking for sail panels in that color.
but then i thougth of. getting the panels from a bird. arent the grapthite interiors almost identical to the charcoal?
all advises and opinions gladly accepted

here are some panels from a 95 T/A. they seem somwhere in the middle, not as darks as my dashbord, bujt darker than the rear part.
here are ebonys. there is one camaro here w/ charcoal dash/console, and ebony seats/doorpanels, and you notice alot less then i expected

The '97-'99 Camaro interior is actually called Graphite (dark gray) and then the '00-'02 is Ebony (black). The lower part of your door panel is supposed to match the carpet and the top part is to match the seats. Since you've replaced your seats, what I would do is go to an interior shop and have them match the vinyl/leather seats and recover the top part of your door panel. You're looking at $100 to have that done...I know from experience...
I put a '99 cloth Firebird seats in my '98 Z and I didn't like how the door panels didn't match either. I went to an upholstery shop, had them order the same material the Firebird seats use (yes, it's still available) and had the recover the top part of my door panels to match the seats.

Actually, if we're talking cloth Camaro seats (I was) then it seems we might both be off...I just pulled my '93-'02 Camaro dealer brochure collection.
Turns out the '93-'95 seats are the same and called Graphite, but the '96 seats are also called Graphite, but a a completely different pattern than the '93-'95 seats with the same name.
The '97-'99 seats are simply called "Dark Gray" and there was also a "Medium Gray" available as well.
The '00-'02 seats are indeed "Ebony" and there was also a "Medium Gray" availabe as well, allthough it too was a different pattern than the "Medium Gray" of previous years.

i would not want to match the seats to the fabric on the doorpanel, its not a realy nice fabric, in almoast every way i can think of,
mostly i would like to do a complete Ebony swap, but i think if i would get i full charcoal, i would be just as happy,

here is a door panel from a 95
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Chevrol...#ht_500wt_1180
so i could use doorpanels from a early lt1 car, only thing i dont like are the waves in the leather, there have some early Z's bin parted out here, but none of there interior where goin to look good in a 30k milage car.
i think my best shot would be finding a solid interior from a 97-99 T/A

All of the different names start to confuse the hell out of me, I have the same interior as OP and would love to change it all to ebony, or even the black that came in the LT1's would I have to change all of the plastic to I take it?

I just switched everything in mine over to straight black and i can tell you right now... stick with a color they actually put in from the factory because no one ive found yet makes the t-top divider board in straight black to match the aftermarket carpet... this is my current dillema on my build

i agree with you 100%, to buy a complete ebony interior is what i would like to do,
but i dont want that more than a midwest fabbed 9" or upgrade my engine to 383, this way i only have to buy the door panels, and and all of the side panels, i dont have to get other carpet/headliner i checked out a 99 T/A yesterday and it clearly had the same carpet,

i understand, make more sense !
that was the orignal plan, to replace the fabric on the door panel with leather to match the seat,
but when the seats where installed i just saw that i wanted the lighter gray color out

anyone knows the colorxcode of the charcoal?
the lower part of the door panels isn't that big, and although painting panels i.m.o almost never works, it could be ok because the surface is so little
