Default Finally Tinted My Lights !

So my car has always been stock looking with the exception of Window tint. Since it has some down time in between the motor rebuild and winter, I decided to tint the lights. Check out the pics, I put two showing what it used to look like. I am pretty satisfied. Didnt want to go too dark on the tails. I will also be getting new rims/tires, 17" and lowering it.

I used the following:

- VHT night shades
- Rust Oleum Crystal clear
- 3M 1000 grit wet sand paper
- McGuires rubbing compound

If you use polishing compound it will even come out better. Rubing compound makes cuts.

Thanks for the info on sanding and polishing. This was my first time so I wasnt sure how much I could sand and not have it show thru.

That looks great, just the right amount of tint without being too dark. I sanded off the numbers on mine and polished them and it gives it a cleaner look.

I like the tails where they have just enough tint to notice there's tint on them just like what you did with yours OP.

98greenz28, I used about 3 coats. I let it dry between coats about an hour. When you wet sand it makes it a little lighter also. I was debating on tinting them and dont want to get pulled over, the car is already an cop catcher with the window tint and it being loud.

Well at least you did it right. Most people just go spray crazy on them, and do not buff/polish them and they come out looking crappy. Good job

They probably need a little more polishing, got all winter for that. I cant believe how good the wet sand and rubbing compound works, first time doing it too.
