Default Paint problem? Maybe sap.

Not sure exactly what this is on the side of my car. It was there when I bought it. I thought I'd be able to fix it with a claybar but that wasn't the case. Any other suggestions, short of a new paint job?

Pic related.

So, I know I didn't get any answers. But I'll update this with my findings anyways.

All the..whatever it is...is gone.

Goo Gone (spray bottle, orange liquid) is amazing. It literally just wiped off. Weird that it got what the clay couldn't. Wish I had tried that first. Credit goes to my dad for showing me this stuff. I've now got a bottle in my car cabinet.

That doesn't look like the tree sap we have here. Glad it came off. Most clay bars are "mild". It's funny how it works sometimes.

if you have nothing else, try hot soapy water, it's worked for me.
