Default Anyone Try the Flex 3403 Lightweight Rotary?

I'm thinking of adding a rotary to accompany my PC 7424. I have an old school big heavy rotary from like the 80's, and I don't want another heavy, bulky buffer, especially one with an obnoxiously large backing plate/pad.

So the Flex 3403 Lightweight appealed to me. Has anyone tried it that can speak for it? Any downsides compared to the larger Flex? Any other Rotary's I should look into?

Thanks everyone!

I have one and I have been happy with it for what I use it for. I use it for final polishing (jeweling) only and it works good.

The one time I used it to do some heavier cutting I was not impressed with it. It seemed to get extremely hot very quickly.

I find that it gets very hot, not matter what I use it for, and takes a long time to cool down. It retains heat 30 minutes after use.

If it is going to be your only rotary, I would not recommend it .. if it is addition to a larger machine, then it is a decent tool, imo.

That's exactly what I was worried about, it's ability to remove heavy defects. It looks like the Makita rotary is another favorite.

Late to the party here, but we use 2 of the 3403's with the dynabrade attachment 3 days a week 8 hours a day. Yes they do get hot, but do not shut down. If you are just detailing your own cars, the 3403 will be fine.
