Default Which LEDs for turn signal/DRLs?

I have seen a metric crapton of threads about if you should LED or not and the troubles you might come across when trying it. But not much debate as to what actual bulb should be used. I would like to know the opinions of some folks who have experience with them to speak up.

If someone only wants same color replacement (as opposed to switchbacks) do they still seek a 48-60 led bulb or will a 24-30 do the job just as well?

How about something lower like an 18 led bulb?

Let's place some real life experiences with the various bulbs and if they are worth buying in the future.

If this already exists and I overlooked it, please point me in the right direction.

48-60 is what people usually go with. Now they even have towers with 90'ish LEDs. You may want to consider getting new DRL housings as well bc the old, foggy lens may keep you from getting the full light output you had expected

Also, be sure to check which "style" you get if you go with switchbacks. I think they have "style 1" and "style 2" and these deal with blinker color patterns which should be described in the bulb's description.

Concerning the housings, here is what I'm talking about. These made a WORLD of difference in the light output of the regular incandescent 3157 amber bulbs...

I have white 3157 bulbs from superbright LEDs the 18led tower. They are plenty bright. I honestly don't think the 60 led towers will be 3 times brighter than the ones I have. The 60 led towers use smaller LEDs. The ones I have use bigger LEDs

I already have new housings. I will also be replacing the plugs whether it is needed or not. So all other aspects out of the way this is what I want to know...

I realize 48-60 is the norm for switchbacks. That is a dual color LED tower. I would like to know if I bought a single color LED tower with 24-30 would it really be equiv?

Thanks,

Chris

The TA housing is also substantially larger than the cam one. Though, if you got enough from 18 to make a bright light I would be confident to make a similar decision for the TA

I tried to use the ones from AutoZone then the cheap Ebay ones and then I used some from a better source. I think the problem with the camaro ones is that the bulb faces the bottom of the housing, I hope you have better luck with your TA

I have 43 LEDs on mine from superbrightLEDs.

Those are nice and bright. Are they switchbacks or single color?

Bene do you have a part number or can you send me a link for your switchbacks. Also did you have to disable your DRLs
