Side emblem?

Side emblem? Just wondering if FIREBIRD emblems were put on the sides of cars with V8s. I thought it would say FORMULA or TRANS AM. I'm asking cuz my friend is telling me his is a V8.

On the side of doors all firebirds 93-97 v6 and v8 just had "FIREBIRD"... 98-02 v8 firebirds had "Formula" on the side. 93-97 v8 firebirds had "Formula" sticker on rear bumper and cross hatched taillights.
