Default How often to apply headlight UV goo?

I replaced my headlights recently as, at 14 years old, they were beyond repair and I bought some clear liquid stuff that is appplied to plastic headlights which protects agasinst UV and other things that make them cloudy over time.

Is this stuff supposed to be applied every time you wash the car, or is this supposed to be used only a few times a year? The bottle label is silent on this question.

Yellowing and clouding is a very common problem with modern lenzes; are the newer plastics any more resistent to clouding?

Does it hurt the plastic if you do it often?

I doubt it. If anything it would help to keep the protection longer.

You might wanna check out this thread. I do it all the time now. It pretty much permanently fixes your headlights. Applying the stuff adds depth and clarity to the lens too. I like it because it's actually a protected clear coating, not a band-aid. I've used the headlight sealants and none of them work well. They would always start to yellow in a few months.

Yep, and the mineral spirits. Walmart has the stuff too BTW. You only need to get the quart size though. That's the smallest they have. It's $15.xx. It's worth it though. I mix 15ml of each in a cup. It's still more than I need to do 2 headlights. Basically you'll have a quart of each of the 2 parts. It's probably enough to a 1000 cars. Tell your friends and family!
