Default Stripe ideas for Formula Ram Air Hood

Just picked up this 96 and was curious if anyone has put stripes on this style ram air hood. If so could you link me to some pics or post them on this thread. I am thinking of keeping it all black with flat (matte) black stripes.

Open to some cool ideas as well.

I think black ram air cars look best without stripes. But if your set on them. I'd go with some blackbird stripes.

Thanks for the input. I took a look and Im not sure I like them but it is an option. I was thinking something along the lines of a double stripe on top that I can continue on the rear wing also.

thanks

anybody with some pics of custom stripes??

Personally I wouldn't do stripes over the top. Some pull it off some don't. Post more pictures of your car so we can help more.

I am beginning to agree with you on leaving it alone but it is tuff as I am a graphic artist and can make any stripes or graphics myself.

thanks again for the input

Graphic artists' know when to leave something alone too. Id get the hood aligned and then maybe photoshop some matte hood stripes. Something subtle might work.

That is a nice formy. The lt1 birds are my favorite. If it was mine I would leave it lose the ram air decals and put ws6 rims. And powdercoat the rims gunmetal. Sick sick formula.

I appreciate all the comments and agree with all of them which makes it difficult. It really all about making it my own. I purchased the car just like it is and wanted to add some of my own touch is all. I think Ill try the blackbird style and make a custom set for myself.

Its funny you mentioned (14k) loose the ram air decals because I just made them and put them on the other day. The old ones on there were looking ragid.

1965GP------What is the 97 hurst style??

Also looking for a ram air box if anyone has some leads......

thanks again

Scott

I agree with a flat black stripe, probably blackbird style.

blackbird stripes in flat black look really good, its a very subtle look, or you can even do charcoal.

but for that hood i always wondered what hocky stripes would look like, since i have never seen it done i hope i can explain what i mean.

having the blade of the hocky stick either infront of the ram air opening, or on top of it
then have the handle go along the raised section of the hood or on the side of it like the blackbird stripes

Can you post a link to something similar?
