Default street scoop on EFI

has anyone heard of putting a street scoop on a fuel injected ls1 seems like it would be a great appearance mod and might actually be useful as a intake and as a shaker hood type deal anyone heard or seen his done

the only problem I can think of is creating the angle to go in to the throttle body and some how making a bracket and attaching the butterfly linkage to the throttle cable

Wasn't 6LE working on something like a Shaker Style setup or something like that a while back? Maybe it would be something to look into but with what you were saying OP, I would vote against it. I've never seen a hood with a hood scoop added to it that I've liked. Just my $0.02.

Mach 1s have this I think. I just don't think it would look good on our cars. Ram air is the only way to go.

what I'm talking about isn't like the Mach 1 it would be like a 671 blower intake. Idk just thought of it randomly

Year One did it on the white 69' camaro years ago.
My next intake project is to make a bugcatcher style intake with 4 butterflies to peek through my forward facing hood scoop just to be different.

I'm just putting out my $0.02 here but I just don't see it looking good. To me, these car's look to new and doesn't have the body lines for that 60's or 70's look with the shaker hood scoop or hood scoop in general at all. Hate me for it but I'm just giving my $0.02 though.

I dont see why you couldnt do it. You could piggyback the stock throttle linkage to the butterflies in the bug catcher and duct the air to the TB however you needed to

that's what I was thinking issue is to place the scoop center of the hood would it cause to much of an angle to rout the duct back into the intake manifold

My thought for mine ( which of course has a custom front) is the butterfly intake up front seen through custom opening. Would give some perspective to this thought if someone with photoshop skills could add a bugcatcher intake to this pic.
