Default 2009 Black G8 GT, LOTS of pictures.

I normally post in the LS4 section, but I detailed a buddies G8 and thought I'd throw it on here.

This G8 belongs to a good friend of mine, and we decided it was time to clean it up a bit. The car is not stock, it has headers, intake, exhaust, tune, and prob some more things I can't think of.

The owner said he drove through some "concrete", I thought he was joking, it was actually really hard to remove from the wheel wells.

Process

Foam canon with DP xtreme foam
2BM wash with CG Citrus wash
Diablo gel and APC on the wheels, wheel wells, and tires.
Dried with WW towels
Polished with M205, white/green LC pads
LSP - Blackfire wet diamond
Blackfire total eclipse tire gel
Aquapel on windsheild
APC and 303 aerospace on the inside

All photos are unedited, taken with Nikon D7000 and various lenses.

Here are a few before pictures.

Wheels got Diablo Gel

Tires and wheel wells got APC 4:1

Rinsed

that's better

It was pretty obvious that the paint didn't have much protection left.

Paintwork before

Taped up

After polishing no LSP

Tape removed

Blackfire wet diamond applied

While that cured, I cleaned up the inside

I'm guessing one of his kids and something blow up back here.

Vacuum, Apc, 303 Aerospace protectant, cleaned up the inside.

Aquapel applied

Sealant removed and final pics!!

Thanks for looking!

Looks great. What kind of brush were you using on the wheels? I need something like that to get the inside of my wheels.

Looks good, keep up your wax layer. Some Meg's Ultimate Quick wax after washing is very good at boosting.

Also fix that dent on the hood, remind me of my wife car lol.

Spent about 7 hours on this, could have done it easy in 5, but I did take a lot of pictures and the wheel wells took 3 different brushes and chemicals to remove most of it.

I love these threads. I wish I knew of a guy in the area that I could have do a solid polish/buff job for me...I am always so weary of detail shops.
