Did you end up taking out the vents to put on the chrome rings? Those look like Boyd's rings. I have a set but haven't put them in yet

I've got a set I'll sell you if you're interested. PM me.

OP, it looks good. I like the radio setup with the lit up "TRANS AM" logo.

Yes they are Boyds rings, thanks again for giving me his info. I took the 3 middle vents out but left the outer two in. I found that after i had completed the install, i could have just left all the vents in and saved myself a huge hassle. The most tricky part is removing the bezels without cracking them or harming your dash and if that step can be avoided, i say go for it. All that needs to be removed are the rings themselves and thats simple. When reinstalling the rings, put the bottom in first, then line up the slider with the notch for the fins, then use a very small flathead to ease the top part into place, you will feel it click into place. PM me if you have questions during your install.

Thanks i was a little hesitant to get the rings because i didnt want it to look cheap and ricey but after seeing alot of pics on here i decided to try it. You never really can tell how something will look until you see it in person, im glad i got them.

Yea i used a dremel with a cut off disk. Just took off the **** and made all the same cuts as it already had just 3/4" longer, then cut off the top. 3/4" is the most i could go with the stock **** and still be able to get it into park without the **** hitting the plastic in front.

On the little flash drive thats in there you name your folders that hold music and i just named one badbirdie. You have options of what the head unit displays such as folder name, track title, artist name, etc...

Thanks for all the compliments guys

Can you post pics of how you actually cut the shifter? I just bought the adapter and a shifter ****, and I want to shorten it. Do you have to cut both the center plastic piece and the metal? And how much did you cut each?

I cut the metal and the plastic 3/4" from where it was originally. You can go up to a full inch since you are not using the stock ****.

You wont have to worry about this, but i also cut 3/4" lower than where the slots were for the staple to hold the stock ****
