Project Update: Extreme-G 1969 Camaro SS
Okay, I know I haven't posted any sequence photos lately, been saving them up to add to the webpage. I've been working on the car (by myself) just about every single day, trying like hell to get the car running for Hotrod Power Tour in June. Its going to be tough, but I've finally started re-assembling the car.
Had a few setbacks, the engine bay needed alot of work, especially the firewall smoothing and painting. Tons of misc holes and such I had to weld up and sand/paint. Then we removed the windshield to replace it with a new one, and found a TON of rust and bondo hidden underneath it. So, that cost me another couple weeks to restore the dashboard and get all the rust out.
But, the results are rewarding, it looks so nice now. I should have the engine/tranny sitting in the car in the next couple days, then I can begin wiring it up. Then the windshield will be replaced, and I'll start assembling the supercharger kit and exhaust system. Then I'll put the freshly powdercoated (gloss black) inner fenders on, and the rest of the front sheetmetal. It will soon look like a car again!
Anyways, here are the two updated pages showing all the repair/restoration work I've been tied up with lately:
Front end teardown, firewall smoothing, painting, install new subframe
and
Dashboard rust-fest removal, new dash panel installed, painted
Overall, the project has been enjoyable. Sometimes I get a little frustrated since I am doing everything by myself, and don't have much time left until the Power Tour. So many things to do, so little time....

Hey Tony, I see you're in Houston. I will probably be there next year, as I'm fairly certain I'll be attending UTI's Houston campus. I look forward to seeing the project in person!

Dang Tony, the car is coming along great. Hope you get it done in time. Ill be at the kick off for the tour but thats it. Hope to see your car there. I know what you mean with the frustration and the time and money that youve put into the car. I have my project car that Ive finally started on this year. Ive had problems already, it seems that as soon as I start to make progress I find something else that sets me back. I was hoping to have the car done for the good guys show here at TMS but its not going to happen. I think I set my hopes too high. If you would like a real challenge then come and help me with my 442.
