Default Serious issues removing factory badges.

Heated them up and they peeled right off. Now, I can't get off the residue. I've used the 3m and turtle Wax adhesive remover, brake cleaner, wd40, nothing works. It also looks like the emblem pulled little hunks out of my fender.. . Any advice will be appreciated.

as weird as it sounds i just used dental floss to get the molding off, and then just pulled the rest of the adhesive off with my fingers. then waxed the car. But yea pics would help to understand what is going on.

Yeah, need pics to really offer suggestions. you could download the photobucket or Flickr app to upload the pics and then post them from there.

If you're saying the emblems pulled hunks of your fender off, then what advice are you looking for? I'd think the answer is pretty obvious... take it to a body and get it repainted if you're not capable of doing that kind of work. If the removed hunks are that serious, you'll be better off just purchasing a used fender since they're pretty cheap.

I'm not worried about the hunks, they aren't too bad. Its just the residue will not come off. I'll look for the app and see if I can't get it..

Heat and goo gone were my friends when removing the side molding. I will likely remove the Trans Am lettering sometime this year.

Its also possible that the Previous owner had the car painted and they didnt properly remove the adhesive before painting over it and it is locked in for good until sanded down and repainted.

Once you download the app and upload the pics, you just need to copy/paste the links that should start with [IMG]
