Default Ferrari-style AC vents in Firebird

After sharing a picture of my steering wheel in appropriate topic, I've already received several PMs regarding AC vents - so, probably this mod might be interesting to other members...

These are 1990-2005 Miata vents, about $10/piece on eBay.

Three center vents fits perfectly - just remove stock vents and install new.
Passenger-side also fits good, but you might want to put a couple of layers of duct tape to make it fit tighter.
For driver-side vent duct tape is a must and probably it would be nice to trim it's back side to ensure proper fit. Mine protrudes for a 2-3 mm above, so I'll probably re-do it later. For now, I'm satisfied anyway.

Optional steps:
A) search eBay for "Droopy Eyeball Vent Fix Kit" (costs $5) - depending on condition of purchased vents, you might need it to fix the described problem =)
B) search eBay for "Miata Vent Rings". With all due respect to excellent vendor, 6LITEREATER might not like this, lol: kit of 4 chrome vent rings costs $35 and I'm already communicating with seller to make kit of 5 rings available to suit our need (as Miatas have 4 vents).

With trim rings installed, these vents should look amazingly close to Ferrari-style, which was the look I pursued from the beginning:

Very nice and tastefully done! Interior ac vent idea along with your current interior setup looks really good! Never knew how close the miata vents were to Ferrari ones.

As I said in the other thread, that looks really good. Much better than the cheap stock slat style.

Thanks for kind words.

That was exactly my feeling, when I saw friend's Miata and measured it's vent diameter - that THESE look like a part of sportscar and SHOULD be in Firebird, as I try to make the interior to feel more upscale and modern.

I just replaced mine for $35 each from GM Parts Direct. Obviously I wasted my money. Those look much better!

Perfect. I'll keep this in mind when I do my dash swap in a few years (if that even happens)

Pretty sure they are, look at the middle and driver side vents and they are adjusted.

I'll be picking up a set! It's a great idea and it looks modern.

Any updates on how these look with the vent rings? Found a set of 4 of these real cheap and got 'em. I'll have a gauge in one of the vent holes in the dash so I only need 4 at most.
