Default cowl induction hood

What have you guys been using as a grill for the cowl hood? I just got a FFI cowl hood and need to find something to stick in there. And what about the lining for under the hood. Post pics of bottom side and rear if you have any.

galvinized expanded steel mesh!
serriously its 3 bucks for a 2 foot by 5 foot chunk of it at any home improvement store. its glavinized so it wont rust, or if you want to you can paint it. ive been using it for years for every thing. latest project is the mesh for the front fecia on my scoobie ... check it out (attachment)
oh yeah make sure you wear gloves that stuf is sharp! you can attach it to the back side of your hood with 5 min eppoxie (you can find it at mijer, aco any hardwear store really. or if you dont like the idea of having the mesh attached to the hood you can do what i did.. get some thick wire like binding wire or somthing like that cut chunks of it about 1/2 inch long and eppoxy 1/4 of an inch of it to the underside of the hood leaving the other 1/4 free. put the mesh into place and put the wire through the mesh and bend the wire back onto its self to hold it into place.... if you cant find wire some people use paperclips. cheap easy way to hold it in place.
wow just noticed that its hard to see when painted black.
just ask for expanded steel mesh at a home improvement place they should know what your talking about.
good luck man
oh one last tip if you dont want to be able to see through it you can back up the steel mesh with screen door screen.
welcome to the sight

Have you tried looking at a first gen flapper to go in the cowl? I don't know if it will work or not, but you could make one that is similar. It would be neat if someone made a functioning cowl induction kit for 4th gens. All you would need is a small silonoid, and a power source. You could even fab a switch so that it opened when you wanted.
