Default Installing SS manta decal

Has anybody here installed their own manta ss hood scoop decal and had any luck? I'm looking to order one but was wondering how hard it was? I'm thinking about ordering this one.

If you could give me any tips or tricks that would great.

See what the manufacturer recommends.

I have installed a couple of stripes myself, what i like to do is use soap and water to lay down the decal, that way you can move it to exactly where you want it. you have to work a bit fast here. then use something with a gentle edge to squeeze out the bubble and water and lay down the decal(work from the middle out). Once the water drys out the decal will stick.

Best to do this with a friend.

The manta stripe is easier to install out of the two. If I remember correctly, in the past fourth circle would ship out two complete overlays because a lot of customers were ruining the first one while trying to install it. Then they found the stripe was a lot easier to install because it has a lot less surface area.

Definitely mix a spray bottle with water and a couple drops of dish soap along with a little rubbing alcohol. Dont over do it on the soap though, honestly 2-3 drops is enough for a full spray bottle full of water. The rubbing alcohol isn't necessary but it helps evaporate the water a little faster. If your thinking about going with the overlay instead of the stripe just have patience when applying it and look out for air bubbles on the top middle portion of the scoop.

I did mine about 3 years ago. Not crazy hard but definitly not for someone who has never installed any sort of graphic. It took a while but like I said, nothing crazy. On top of what everyone else recommended id suggest having another set of hands with you. Someone to keep it in place while you squeegee and also they double as another set of eyes which I always recommend when doing vinyls

the way I always do my stripes is I have a spray bottle with a mix of water and dish soap in it, mist the car, mist the back of the decal, get it positioned how i want it on the car, then start heating it with the heat gun and pushing the water out from underneath. Ive only ever done it on blackbird stripes so I cant attest to if it would work on a manta but i dont see why not. Same concept. Just make sure you got it good and dry and positioned before you peal your backing paper up.
