>So I noticed how each it was to take the lense off and im wondering if painting the inside black is what the "wistler mod" is? I always here about it but not sure

WHAT IS THE WISTLER MOD?

Whistler mod on the headlights is painting the inside of the headlight bucket black and leaving the relector in the back chrome. Or some people have painted the lights the color of the car to match instead of black.

Lmao...8000 posts dating back to 06 and you don't know where it started?

Yes "Whistler" is the mad scientist behind it. He'll forever be immortalized by thousands of modified fbody headlights.

I keep toying with the idea of picking some up. I just flip flopping between liking them and not linking them. Maybe if I seen them in person on a black car I could decide.

I needed a new set, mine were pretty nasty and were all scratched up. So just pulled the trigger.

I just finished mine after years of procrastinating only to find out that 6LE sells them online. Lol. I was a little upset. Mine wouldn't have been so bad if the lens wasn't so completely screwed up. It's definitely worth it to me to keep stock headlights though. Any aftermarket just fit like crap and "whistler" headlights look the best imo anyway. Even if the original idea came from someone helping Wesley Snipes kill vampires. Lol

I decided after all of your guys input that I am going to give it a shot after I have an extra set of headlights and fresh cleans lenses I posted previous.
My questions is where to tape off at, I can see more or less where but I cant find that masking tape that curves anywhere, anyone know where I can find this tape (striping tape or masking tape that curve)

redz2898 what are you talking about wesley snipes?

Apparently the name/nickname of one of the characters is Whistler.

People forget that the name/nickname has been around for centuries before that movie came out and the User's choice for their screen name probably has nothing to do with that movie.

Heck if you wanted to make a more relevant reference.....

James Abbott McNeill Whistler (the painter)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Abbott_McNeill_Whistler

At least that reference is more on topic in that it involves paint.

Now that this thread has completely derailed, lets see it we can get it back on track. If we can find the track.

Go for it! It also does a good job of hiding the awful looking rubber seal as it sort of blends in with the rest of the black.
