Default Pontiac G8 GT Exterior Only 2 Step Polish

I just finished this one up today and man did it beat me up. It was hazards280 G8 and man do they have a lot of paint so trying to get this done in a timely manner was a challenge. I am pretty damn sore from head to toe from this one but its all in a days work. The car was in overall clean but the paint needed some fixing. After measuring the paint and seeing it was around 130-140 mils so I decided to go with Menzerna Power Finish 2500 then Menzerna Super Finish 4500. I was initially going to go with Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 until I saw the readings on the paint gauge. I know G8's are notorious for thin paint and soft clears so I approached it as such. I used my Flex 3401 with an orange Lake Country hybrid pad for the Menzerna Power Finish 2500 and a grey finished pad for the Menzerna Super Finish 4500. I topped the car with Menzerna Power Lock and Wolfgang Fuzion Estate Wax. The rims were cleaned with Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner and the tires were cleaned with Meguairs Super Degreaser. The tires were dressed with Poorboy's Bold n Bright and wheel wells got Chemical Guys Bare Bones. Windows were cleaned with Pinnacle Window cleaner with repellent. This is by far my favorite car that I have gotten to work on because of the color and the overall outcome. The owner had some very tasteful mods done to the car which helped as well. There are a lot of after pics as well lol. On with the show.

Over 180 hits and not a single reply. Apparently the car didn't turn out as good as I thought.

I don't take **** for pictures, LOL. What you see is about all I do. It gets the point across. I completely understand where you're coming from though. The paint was really hard, not soft. That's why it chips so easy. I was using a pretty aggressive combo on a rotary to get quick results for my first step.

What pads and products were you using?

I used my Flex 3401 with an orange Lake Country hybrid pad with Menzerna Power Finish 2500 which took care of the swirls pretty easily then hit it with a gray hybrid pad with Menzerna Super Finish 4500.

I was using a course green LC CCS pad....now replaced by pink. Its the pad between the orange and white. I used that with Menzerna Power finish as well. I love Menzerna! No dusting! I polished with a soft green LC pad and Micro Finish.
