Default Trans Am/Firebird dash in Camaro

Just wondering how many of you have done this. If you have could you post finished pics. Looks better to me than the camaro dash assembly but would like to know if there is any certain modifications needed(electrical, dimensions, etc).

Thanks

There is a guy on here I think (scj) not sure on his name but he swapped his LT1 camaro front for an LS1 and also did the LS1 engine swap, and is doing alot of custom work(vertical radiator, trans am dash, etc..) and thats where I got the idea. Tried pm'ing him awhile back but he never got back with me.

From what I have read, its pretty straight forward..just have to do slight modification on the passenger side I think & have to use the TA vent duct, etc.

It's straight forward. I get pmd a lot about things but really don't have time to reply to most of them. In between 70hrs a week working, my daughter and trying to squeeze time to mess with that car I really don't have the time to go over every little detail of my car in writing. The TA dash bolts right up as far as the install goes. I don't have AC or anything, so that was a none issue for me. I didn't change any wiring as of now. Plug and play for my needs.

scj, thanks for posting here man. And I completely understand about not having time. I have 2 kids and my 3rd will be here in a couple weeks, all while I run my own catering business.

Anyways, glad it will bolt right up, Ill be using the AC so Ill get the ducts for it. Will I be able to use the Camaro speedomoter, etc though?

I did it, pretty much just bolts in. Yes the Camaro cluster works fine with it.

ls1curt, thanks for the help. Like the gauges in the AC vents, I am thinking of putting one in the vent hole closest to me(first one to right of steering wheel)

I put a afr gauge in my center vent... Helps to even it out rather than on the far right. Plus you can see it just as clear. Have fun swappig dashes. Took me and a buddy 3 days...

Good point about the gauge being in the center vent. Ill probably go that route, might look kinda goofy being on one side or the other vs the center. Thanks man.
