hand wash it..... take your time so your back will not hurt. Those car washes are death to clear coats and alternators.

Here's what happens to the paint when taken through automatic car washes, especially ones with brushes...

Also, not only do they cause heavy swirling and sometimes deep scratching, they use heavily acidic soaps, which will quickly strip any wax or sealants that you have on your car causing you to apply those more often.

Get a quality pH balanced car wash soap/shampoo and hand wash it. If your back is bad, just take your time, or have your son do it. Lol.

Hand wash it. I work at a dealership with an automatic car wash. Screws are left in there sometimes from broken license plate brackets and can get in your tires. Most of them aren't clean, and will scratch the car bad. Either go use a do it yourself wash in which you spray the car down, or do it by hand.

you could also try finding a sponge that could go on the end of a pole so you wouldent have to bend over as much

Hand wash hand wash hand wash! I also know back pain, but never use a car wash. And this guy ^^^ has a good idea, like the snow brush poles, with a wash mitt placed over then end. Whatever it takes, ull hate urself once u see all the swirls!

I do go to the car wash, but I spray it off myself and I don't use the high pressure water. Automatic car washes with brushes are a very bad idea.

I'm older than you and hand wash, hand wax, and detail every nook and cranny on all 3 of my cars. I can barely move the next day or two but I'll never take a car to a car wash. I imagine one of the bays that have the hoses would be OK if you keep the high pressure water away from the surfaces. At least nothing would be touching the car except for you.
