Custom FRC's...heat question.
I have just about finished my FRC's and was wondering about heat isses ruining the paint on them. I put 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of color match paint (pewter) and am still doing the clear coats (waiting for new decals). After all that, when i put them on there are they going to get ruined from the heat from my engine/hedders. That would blow. what can I do, if anything, to protect them from the heat. if there is something I can put on the underside of them, please let me know what it is, how much it costs, and where to get it. Thanks for the help guys.

Ya there's some headder tape you can get for under the FRC, it's the same kind of tape that's on your fuel line on the drivers side. I think it's called Kooltape or something like that. I'm sure you can get it at autozone
And if i remember correctly, it's around $15, not sure though

i've been running painted frc's with uncoated headers for 6 months now, no problems at all. you could actually paint your block if you wanted to and it would be fine. if anything the heat tape would reflect the heat into your coil packs, which is far worse.
