Default 97+ camaros and GPS mounting

All you guys with the newer style dashes, how are you mounting your GPS units in your car?

I don't want to put mine on the glass or suctioned to the dash...in my 96 it fit perfectly in the cubby hole...

I'm working with a 5" Garmin, but I want something creative. When I had my 96 and it sat in my cubby hole I had another 12v source I wired in behind it, so it alway had power and always had a signal. I could use it on command without any setup and it was a clean install, you couldn't see any wires.

I'd like to do something similar in the 2002, I just can't think of any spots.

5" garmin seems to fit well in that spot beside the cigarette lighter...it just seems to slide around a bit- Anyone have a clever way of getting it to stay put?/install it cleanly there?

For keeping it in place down there maybe a small velcro pad? It wouldn't take much to keep it in place. Just seems like a bad place to put it since it is so low.

I use a windshield mount on the left side down low. Out of the way but still very visible.

I don't mind low, in my 96 I had it tucked right in the cubby hole and had a custom cover I put over the cubby to conceal the GPS when I got out of the car.
