Water Seepage from 3rd Brake Light

Water Seepage from 3rd Brake Light Wash & Wax, then water drops from 3rd brake light - very annoying!
I have some butyl rope that I can put in to stop. I'm thinking black edge against red on red will not look ideal. Is there anything in red that I could use? I'm only looking to seal the top half.
What have you guys used to seal the light lens?
