Default Rear black stripes? Yes or No?

I'm thinking about having the rear spoiler and deck vinyl stripes put on my car to match the SS manta decal on the hood and was wondering what everybody thinks? Here's how my car looks currently:

Stripe I'm considering without the pinstripe ( Hood decal was made without the pinstripe )

If you had the pinstripe I would be on the fence, no pinstripe = will look cheap IMO

(the manta is a complex shape so I'm sure it looks fine without the pin stripe, but a big plain rectangular block of black will look bad)

I'm in the same boat. I painted my manta without the pin stripe and but now I'm debating putting a rear hatch stripe on.... but it has a pinstripe.

Should I go back and have one painted on the hood? lol.

This pic is what's making me possibly change my mind:

Go paint, or go home!! lol.

stripe looks better with center mount exhaust

but still needs a pin stripe or the answer stays "no"

I see your point and actually kinda agree to a certain degree. I know a member here who ordered the rear vinyl for his car with the pinstripe but decided not to use it so I was thinking about putting it on my car. I would pull the pinstripe off since the hood doesn't have it. That would drive me crazy haha!

Paint looks better no doubt but my car is not a everday color and don't want to alter the paint and hurt the value of it that's why I've done vinyl since it's reversable!

add the pinstripe to the manta, then do the rear with the pinstripe then ditch the blacked out berger panel for the original color, having both the berger and the stripe don't flow together.

My point of view comes from the old school side of me. Chevrolet muscle cars are "supposed" to have the pin stripe so when people do normal stripes without it, they look cheap and half assed.

This doesn't apply to the manta section, but to me on any normal rectangular section will evoke those thoughts.

Nothing gets a car tore down more on the Chevelle boards than a picture of a car for sale with shitty looking stripes (too wide, too narrow, don't extend far enough towards the edge of the hood/trunk, go all the way to the edges, or don't have a correct size pinstripe present).

I am a firm believer stripes either need to be "perfect" or left off the car. People won't notice if they are not on the car, but they will sure as hell notice if they are on the car but look "wrong".

I think it looks better with a stripe on it. I agree thought it has to have the pin stripe.

Only if you paint the underside of the spoiler like Sommer. Otherwise it looks cheap and like an overlay. My .02 cent

I agree 100%!! Adding the paint under the spoiler and on the supports really gives it that finished look! Definately needs the pinstripe too!!

I've been wanting to stripe my car but can't decide what to go with, still looking at pics. I do like the 99 HOSS with the CME!!

Thanks for everybody's opinions! My drive is inclined and I have to pull in and out at a sharp angle or it drags so can't bring it down any.
