Default Did the motor mod on my 95, out with the lt1 in with the SBC!! ** video added **

Ive been wanting to do a swap like this for awhile and almost a year ago I started it. I work full time for a very big dirt track race team and we have lots and lots of engines that we build in house so that means we also have lots and lots of parts. I got a bunch of stuff that was no longer the "latest and greatest" in racing but was still very good parts and would make a hell of a street car motor. I got the motor all done a few weeks ago and put in on the dyno at work and it made 526 hp and 465 torque on 93 pump gas. The install has been going very well so far, Im lacking a starter and flywheel at the moment but when I get them I cant wait to fire it up and hear what is sounds like

Here is a link to my build thread:

Nice! Great looking set up I had two carbed engines in mine before going to a 5.3. But to be honest, I miss my old school set up.
Cant wait to see a vid...

Thanks guys, Its been a real fun project so far! camaroboricua: I followed your progress on your sbc swap in the other thread and found the advice you offered on it very helpful to my swap, thank you!! I Just ordered another wave of parts today so hopefully they will be home waiting for me after I get back from Indianapolis this saturday and I can get it running. Tomorrow I am going to order my spec 2pc Rear Main Chevy V8 to LT1 T56 conversion flywheel and also my new clutch. Not 100% sure if I want to get the stage 2 or the stage 2+. The car will probably never see the drag strip, I have never been but would like to go sometime and try it out... Im more of a circle track racer hahaha. Hopefully I will have some videos of it up and running soon

Got the car pretty much done, Just have a few minor things to do to it and it will be ready to hit the street when the warm weather gets here! It sounds evil The engine compartment is getting cleaned up now that im doing the final stuff, The ugly purple fuel log fittings have been replaced with black ones, the bright blue fuel line will be replaced with a nice braided hose and my oil pressure gauge problem is fixed so I no longer have the mechanical gauge zip tied to the cowl haha. Next step is a air cleaner setup. I got my WEGO III Wide-Band Air/Fuel Ratio wired up and installed in the car and the a/f was at 13.5 at idle, The carb is still the way it came out of the box so its fairly close for now, Ill get some actual readings when I get out and drive it. Ill try to get some more pictures as I get everything finished up.

Did a little tidy'ing up under the hood today. I need to get my new feed line to the carb so I can get rid of the bright blue fuel line haha. Next step is to bolt the hood back on and mess around with air cleaner options. Its getting closer!!
