Default Warning ! Lowered F-Body and Rhino don't mix !

Well, I feel like a *&^%(#%$ Moron. I used a rhino ramp to change my oil with my lowered WS6 and after I was done, noticed my front lower bumper had split in a section. The fiberglass literally was ripped into two in the lower section.

Are these bumpers fixable if they break or do I have to buy a new one

How much is a new bumper anyway ?
I just wanted to let you guys know so nobody else makes the same mistake.

My luck sucks

How low is low? I'm down 1" (Hotchkiss) and
still have about an inch of clearance on my
Rhinos.

Take a pic of that split. Are you sure you didn't split the bumper somewhere else? hit anything on the freeway or anything?

Lowered 1.5 inch.
But I took the ramp at an downhill angle

YeAH I'm pretty sure I caused it because I would have noticed it during waxing the day before.

I'll try to get a pic.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it, but thanks for the heads up. We have ramps, and I am sure eventually I would have used them. My bumper was cracked when I bought it though. Not seeing how yours is broke, but it is probably not repairable, they usually are not. I was quoted at $600 with paint OEM part. Thats for a Camaro.

That sucks. I always use a jack and jack stands. I always jack it up on the passenger side so the oil runs out better.

You can get that fixed. I had a crack similar to yours and my friends bodyshop fixed it with fiberglass from the back side, then repainted the bumper. These bumpers are not fiberglass by the way, they are polyurethane. Fiberglass isn't flexible.

I have a 2" drop on my camaro and drive it on a couple of 2x4's so the jack can fit under the cross member

You can tell from the pics that the car has been bottomed out before, why worry about the mark being an extra half inch up?

check out urethane supply company, they sell all the stuff you need to repair your own stuff. Either get what you need from their online store, or find a local dealer, its the same price either way.
I think polyurethane isn't a thermoplastic, so it cant be welded properly. So basically your stuck with just reinforcing the area (behind)

Mine is 2" lower and I can drive straight on and off my Rhino ramps.... however I use two pieces of 2x6 in front of the ramps so not to call it close.
