Wow... subd. If you ever decide to do this for people I would be all about sending you my cluster and having you convert it to the white with the blue needles! Your work is awesome!!!

It's a royal pain in the dick to do...was for me anyway, maybe the OP has a better method. You really couldn't pay me enough to do it as a viable business.

Thanks for the good words.

OLED showed up in Germany today finally, ordering blank copper clad circuit boards and the chemicals to etch it with this weekend, I have the layout of the boards designed. Hopefully this will start moving along at a quicker pace. Months to design and probably a long day to actually make

I forgot about that I dont need the screen back, I bought one for myself as well and will have the programming software so the plan was to do the programming over skype. But what I do need is the 3d printed bezel he's having made by a co-worker for the screen that retains it to new circuit board.

Im pumped as well man. Should have some powered up pics within a couple weeks. He still has to go get the package from customs.

Getting closer. Heres pics of the of the 3D render of the designed circuit boards, from Eagle pcb software. Files have been sent out to be produced.

Not their yet man. Circuits are designed and submited to the pcb manufacurer. Soon as the completed boards come back it can come to life. Its pretty trick, a sandwhich of 3 boards with the OLED on top and it all fits the stock nest the old odo used to sit in.

That's BA - thought you'd have to hack away the OE nest and build in something new.

I know. I was happy as its makes this project a little easier. Should have powered up pics within a couple weeks, the boards should be complete next week.

Also man, I do beleive ive found a pretty simple solution to replacing the stock dimmer with a pulse width dimmer. More on that soon.

subscribed! I'd totally pay for this setup...its sick and modernizes the old and boring looking gauge cluster.

Badass! Please keep me informed - I'd be interested in an OE solution. I need to get back on fabbing up my custom dimmer, but between work, home projects, a 3 year old, and a 3 week old...I'm lucky if I even get to sleep!

Excellent work LT4vert!

Man you sure do have some serious ambition and talent to take on a project like this.

If you decide to get this into production it would be WELL worth your time. Again excellent work!
