I found some leather trans am seats in nice shape and they bolted right in. Wiring matched perfectly and I even have power lumbar and side bolsters!

You can find whole sets online usually. Not too expensive and the fact that they bolt in is worth something. I have driven over 80k miles in my SS with these seats and absolutely love them.

I am going to get my driver seat rebuilt soon, as it is showing some wear here and there now.

My buddy is ordering the 6le type with brackets for his 1984 z28, my old Camaro , I can't wait to try them out! They look amazing! If they're as good as they look, I will prolly get a set for my 2002 Camaro.

The only concerns I have are the height of the new seats (I want them as low as possible) and the pesky airbag function. I would like to retain airbag function for both sides. Anyone keep airbag function reliably despite aftermarket seats?

I replaced my driver seat with a Cobra imola seat, its really light (15lbs) since its made out of kevlar. But its not for everyone since its a fixed back seat.

Empatho- Those aftermarket seats look awesome! Fixed back is a little hard core for me-I guess you know if they're comfortable right away , how do you choose? I take it they still have sliders for fore-aft adjustment, just no rake?

JSteele90- As for the Corbeau seats, they look very comfortable and seem to be a good fit too. Do they raise the seating position compared to stock?

Okay, finally, do you guys have the airbag warning lights on or is there a electrical harness in them?

I will post pics of my old car when we get the new seats, hopefully by the weekend.

Thanks, I went with a fixed back because it was one of the lightest options out there. To me this seat feels more comfortable then the stock camaro seats, but the best way to pick a seat is to go to a local dealer and try them all out. Of course it is more difficult to get in and out then the stock seats, but I don't mind.

Yes you can keep sliders with this seat, and you can adjust some rake with the side mount seat brackets but the back doesn't recline. And no there is no airbag light to worry about when you remove your seats. You should only have a harness on the seat if they are powered.

Oh, okay, I thought there was a pressure sensor in the seats to allow the airbag to be "active" in the event of a collision... I did a Google search and guys had to jumper a connection for their Subarus, Toyotas etc. Now I really want to get on with it-thanks for the info!

The Corbeau seats integrate very well and if they don't raise the seating position, I will look at those again.

I still have a soft sport for the 6le style seats, heard so many good things about them...

Fingers crossed for later this week...

I have the 6LE seats as well and the only problem I have with them is I need to get some sliders. I have the. Installed in the car without sliders and I love the fit and finish on theses seats.

Also looking at some aftermarket seats for my TA. Really like the 6le style seats but looking through some threads it looks like the brackets the sell don't line up right? Correct me if I'm wrong about that... Also is there a way to retain my factory driver side power rails or would I have to go with the manual sliders that the seats come with? Honestly just looking for the easiest bolt in seats that look and feel great.

il share my recent seat expirience, i wanted race style seats, searched and liked 6le, liked corbau, and some others. but im cheap, so i found some on amazon. they were 259 delivered for a pair. all in all decent seats. however, the ad showed one seat, i recieved another. only real differnce was the logo ebroidered on them, so i didnt squabble. then theres the brackets, ordered some from wedge engineering through andys autosport. i had to give them very specific measurments for the holes to fit both the seat and the floor. the brackets took 5 weeks and 6 days to come. and when they did, there were no holes drilled at all. so i wnet through a couple drill bits, and some pain in the *** to get it right. brackets cost 219 shipped. so total cost with odss and end bolts cuz they sent wrong ones, was around 490. they look good, and a re reasonably comfortable. HOWEVER, if i had the chance, id have just went with something better, like procar, or corbau. cant load pics dam mobil or id display them

Mikez28ta, heres a pic of mine from amazon, sold pictured with a small "3A" logo, and instead came as this...i kept them because they were cheap, and was a pita to return, as amazon was not the seller. lesson learned

I honestly Buy my seats from Ebay for 50$ then pay to a guy to make them exactly how I wanted to look and feel... not gonna spend 1000+ if the seat is not going to be 100% custom...

this guy make them super comfortable, then covered with leather, and microfiber, and Orange stitching.. all of this for 500$ all Seats and Doors covers, + My front seats are still automatic and also put a heater on them I only miss the Z28 logo... but this can be done in the future
