I work with a guy whos a multiple fox body owner so needless to say we talk alot about cars, he mentioned the other day that it would look really aggresive if i went with blackouts all around and limo tinted windows and a black billit grill (which I'm getting soon anyway). What do you guys think about it given my color scheme?

IMO, blackouts are a little '1994". I think our cars have nice head/tail lights, no reason to hide them.

The good thing about blackout's is your can put them on or take them off in no time.

Not going to bash your blackouts, but I hope you don't drive around w/ the rear ones on. Why risk someone bashing into your hind end because they're yacking on their cell phone and your brake lights aren't able to get their attention.

Blackouts look great on dark cars, but a bit out of place on light cars. I have blackouts on the back of by 2001 Black Formula. No one's said anything bad about them. Another good thing about blackout covers is that they hide a shattered taillight. Mines been held together with clear tape for a year now, but you can't tell because the entire red lens is there and the cover hides it. I dont feel like paying $300 for a taillight. The covers only cost me $40 or $45. They are available from Autozone.

I think it would look okay.

BTW: My car is black and has blackouts on the headlights, tailights, and the DRL's as well as a black billet grill. (well, some jack@ss stole my grill from RK Sport the last day I was on campus , so now I am waiting for a stull billiet grill from afterthoughts auto) Will tint whenever my poor @ss can afford it.

i had the rear lights tinted on my car, the two in the side fo the rear bumper, 3rd brake light and the other two. It looks amazingly good. They look tinted and not like they have black outs on them. ill get a difference in the two with the red 97 z28 and my 2001 z28 (tinted lights) when i get the car back from the body shop.

A little advice on the rear black outs.. I used to have them on my 2000 until i took them off to wash it and found that they were melted! The rear black outs are fine on 96 and later camaros, but 97 and up your tail lights will melt. I just replaced mine and spent a little over $600 for both. Just trying to save people money.

I had them on my 95 Z. They tend to scratch the tail light. I elected not to have them on the 02 SS. I did get a written warning for having the rear lights and front turn signal lights covered in the daytime.

They only mely on the camaro's, the way the 97 and newer tail lights are designed causes alot of heat build up and they have a tenency to melt. The pontiacs havent had this problem.

I have had my rear taillights on for about a year now and the rear blackout's have not melted. But then my car is not a daily driver.

The blackouts wont melt... the tail lights will. If your car is in the sun or always out with blackouts then they will melt, I have had three sets melt on me. I wont be using them anymore.

i've seen that problem on tail lights before on ls1 camaros. I've had blackouts on my taillgihts pretty much 100 percent of the time for the 6 years I've owned the car and it was my only car for 4 of those years..my tail lights are perfectly fine.
