Unhappy Upper Dash Boards Cracked from sun which OPTION would you choose?

I have an 02 z28 and I have always been query of dash board cracking so I've put a shade up all the time I live in Texas so it gets hot. I went up to store one day and left it down because it was a quick trip I come back about 20 minutes later and its cracked almost right down center.

A few options that come to mind of (if you have any other ideas im all ears).
-(NEW ONE REPOP $125 anyone buy one online)

1. Find one off a parts car on CL parts yard etc so far they have all been cracked (a guy says he has one wants $75 phone don't send pics smh)

2. Take it off and repair it using a kit of plastic welding?? anyone ever done this

3. Buy a dash board cover but I really don't know if it will look decent or good.
(ANYONE FOUND A GOOD FITTING ONE PLX SEND PICS)

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY COME OUT VERY EASY? TRUE?
I CAN'T STAND LOOKING AT IT EVERYDAY GOTTA DO SOMETHING

if its cracked it will probably crack more while removing, depending how badly it breaks while removing you may be able to salvage it and fix it, then wrap it with vinyl, this has been covered many times on here.

That happened to my friends T/A a few weeks ago and he went to a U pull it junk yard and got one for 22 bucks out of a wrecked V6 firebird. It's not gonna get any cheaper than that lol

A carpet dash mat would be the cheapest option. My friend had one in his Camaro and it didn't look bad.

post a photo. i have fixed both and i could fix it in no time. how bad are the cracks? if its just 1 crack then take it out NOW before if progresses.

i used epoxy resin and leather wrapped. if i had to do it again i would fiberglass then leather wrap, it wont break again and its very cheap to do so.

TxOutlawZ28 I have repaired mine three time to learn the hard way about living in hot areas. Mine cracked in a few places so I removed it and fiberglassed the whole thing, and then covered it in leather. The only downfall to coving it, is the use of the spray glue to get the leather to stick to the panel. In any place that is hot, the glue used will evaporate and leave a film on your window every damn day. It is a pain to clean your glass that much. Finally I got so tired of it i just pulled it out. I am also trying to find a nice replacement. Hope this helps.

Back in December JC316 had posted up a thread of him buying a dash pad cover that goes over your existing cracked dashpad @ Dashtop dot com, there are also a few youtube users who installed these on their car as well.

6litre sold dash covers, well he did. I'm not sure if he still has them or not. The dash in my 00' Firehawk finally started to crack this year. I can't stand it.
