Default Seat belt scratches on center console

What works well to mask these rubs/scratches caused by the seat belt?

BAH!!! I have these too, soooo annoying! I think they are pretty much there for good, mine have rubbed away pretty good at the console. Enough to cause the surface to no longer be flat anyway...

i used the soft side of velcro. Just buy some velcro tape, peel of the soft side and cover up the side of the seatbelt buckle that scratches the console. Hope this helps

When i was looking around my car I noticed the guy before put pieces of duct tape over the seatbelt covers so it wouldnt rub against the console. It kinda blends in with my gray interior haha. It works well just looks kinda ghetto but no one except myself notices.

I think the velcro is a good idea, but I want to know how to remove them.

I am going to try some of that "new trim" stuff... you know you use it to liven up dull black trim. Maybe that will work? Gonna do the whole velcro thing to!

I had the same problem with my previous car, so I put this on my web site about a year ago to avoid the problem, as mentioned by others in this thread:
http://www.phantomss.com/camaro/2bucktrick/

To FIX it, might be tough...This MIGHT work:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=240782

But because it is a tight spot, you may have to remove the seats from getting set on fire.

Good luck!

Sorry.. i only know how to prevent them

Wife made me a pair of "cuffs".. basicly some soft black stretch material that slips over the seat belts and keeps them from scratching the console.. picture wrist sweat bands but not as fluffy..

The heat method works well but is dangerous if you aren't careful. You need just a little heat or you will really jack up the plastic.

I have used peanut oil (or peanut butter if you don't want to buy the oil) with good results for years, although I haven't used it on the SS. It doesn't necessarily fix the scratches but it makes them a lot less noticeable. You only need a little too - goes a long way!

I just put some sticky-backed felt on the side of the seatbelts facing the center consol. Works great and you can hardly see it.
