Default Remove accidental touch up paint?

I was applying some touch up paint, and my hands picked up some paint off the jar. I accidentally placed my hand on the fuel door and now there's a splotch of touch up paint where it isn't needed, maybe a quarter in size.

Any ideas how I can remove the touch up paint without damaging the original factory paint?

You can wet sand it off, use 1500 grit or 2000 then get a polish from your local auto store and that will take out the wet sanding marks

You'll be able to get if off with lacquer thinner, it will leave a slight white haze but then just use some polishing compound like meguiars 205 to buff out the haziness.

Wetsanding will also work, but it's a an aggressive way to do it.

Spot test this first! If that part has ever been repainted and they used a crap clear it could pull it up. I learned this the hard way.

That side of the car has never been repainted. Yeah, being too aggressive and having to apply touch up paint anyway to hide that mistake would definitely be irritating
