I think for Trans Ams it would need a total redesign. If anything it would look like a ZL1 front bumper.

The grille I actually have 4 different versions we created to bring something new out in the works as I type this

No teasers on these yet? Lol. Just curious as to what's going on in your head for a style.

One is a design we had awhile ago and just, honestly, forgot about...

The others are just playing around with the idea of waterjetting flat pieces, any design (not for the customer lol, any design we come up with) one example say like the SLP grille but with honeycomb mesh, and bend to shape.

Should be cheap in plastic, little more expensive but still cheap in metal, and fit identical to billet grilles but be way more mode
rn.

Awesome that is exactly what I was going to attempt to create with a red bowtie.

Yeah we're trying to do it out of plastic as well to offer a cheap version then powdercoated metal for the higher end...

I would actually prefer a textured plastic piece over a powder coated metal one since I'm trying to recreate the Sunoco anyways (from pics it appears like a more satin plastic on those cars over a gloss finish). It's good to hear your looking at both options.

^^^That's much more of a full race air dam than a splitter.

So I've been doing some research about fiberglass, I have no experience with it. Like I said above, I want to do a Sunoco recreation but I'm extremely worried about cracking and other separation at the seams where I would have to cut out the center section. From what I understand if the glass and resin for top and bottom grille fill, in the case with these bumpers, is not applied within 24-48 hours of the original bumpers cure time the bond will be purely mechanical and susceptible to separation at the seams.
Does anyone with fiberglass experience have any thoughts on this? Should I just abandon the removal of the center? Or is there a way to reinforce the seams, such as laying extra mat and resin to overlap a few inches on the back side of the surface to be painted?

You're totally fine. Brian (McNord) removed his a YEAR after we sent him the bumper and there's been no issues wit the glass separating.

That's good to hear, do you know what brand resin and hardener Is going to be used in the production or should that even be a concern? I would still like to try to keep the materials as similar as possible tho.

Hey thanks a lot. I'm obviously in no hurry but I am trying to do my homework. I want to try to get some practice with the materials and see if I can do this job myself or pay some Jack off a couple hundred bucks to do it lol.
