I just polished mine up with some Alu polish. They look like new, took all the spots off and since I started on the tips I continued along the rest of the pipes. Put on over 1500 miles since and they still look great. Hope this helps

I use "never dull" and it shines the tips really nice just like how new they looked when they came out of the box. Only thing is my car has headers and since then it just made matters worse. I have to polish them at least once a week now and they will look good. (BTW im talking "polishing" them once a week not just wiping them off!)..

I've seen some guy posting about spraying brakeleen around the tips and everything came just right off. I tried it but so far no luck at all. Maybe brakeleen would work good if you use it regulary before all the **** gets sunked in (for a lack of a better word)

Brake cleaner, non-chlorinated, takes off the soot on the rolled portion of the tips in seconds, no rubbing.
