Question Help with T/A Park Lamps

I just bought a 99 Trans Am with 59k miles and all is well except the parking lamps. Both lenses are kind of hazy, not very clear. The driver's side lamp is a little loose, and when lit, it projects a pale colored light, lighter than the passenger side. The passenger side makes your average amber color like it should, but the driver's side is almost like a headlight with a hint of amber. So I was wondering what I should do about the cloudliness, the loose lamp, and the color. I've found new lamps and bulbs, but theyre a little pricey. I took a quick look to see if I could access the housings, but its kind of crowded under the hood as you know and so I'm not sure on how to go about getting to the parking lamps. Any help would be appreciated on any of my dilemmas, lol. Thanks in advance.

Right in front of the wheels your going to see a plastic flap that you can open to access the lamps. Most likely water got inside of the lamp(s) (typical)

I noticed on my lenses, there is a crack right down the middle on both sides.. im sure thats how water is getting in mine. I am going to do a search for a part # for these things, and if I can't find anything i'll start a thread..
Take off the headlights or go from underneath like Mustang5.0hater said. GL!

In my skinnier days, I just reached thru the vent directly beneath the lamp to get the bulbs out of the back to swap them out.

As far as them being cracked, mine are too, but I have the GTStyling blackouts on them, and they really seem to offer a lot of protection from the water.

I'm sure there's still moisture in there, but I haven't had any problems to speak of out of the function of the bulb themselves. Maybe you should look into the blackouts, they have them for the Foglights as well, makes for a nice look, especially on black cars.

Good luck, and welcome to our habit!

Anyone have part numbers or know where I can buy these parking lamp housings? Mine are cracked and hazy. One has a hole in it from a rock.

The dealership! I priced them a while back and they were like 43 a peice for the housings and like 60 a peice for the harness....... mine had gotten SOO bad that the harness had rusted up and probably wasn't making **** for connection. I finally said f.... it and didn't worrry about it. Hell I had began to change a the bulbs every 3-4 DAYS!

the factory calls for 4157, i think.. But i get the super white bulbs, and they dont make them in 4157. I use 3157 in mine, they work just fine.

You can get the new housing from www.autobodypartsbuy.com and get some Sylvania Silver Stars in amber. That was the first mod I did, it's freaking awesome! BTW the screws holding the housing to the body are made out of play-doh, so don't over tighten like I did.
