Default Aftermarket seats and seatbelt

I posted this over in the convertible section, but I know there isn't a whole lot of traffic over there.

I'm looking at getting a set of corbeau lg1s to put into my Z. Looking at the seat, it almost seems that the upper bolster would push the seatbelt up into my neck, especially with it being a vert. Does anyone have a pic of a vert with seats and how the seatbelt sits?

And yes, I know I could go the harness route, but I know they aren't considered a seatbelt here and cops love giving out seatbelt tickets.

Try running the belt through the slot right under the "headrest".

Or just get the sport seat if you are just looking for comfort seats in a daily street car

not a vert, but I have Corbeau Forza's in my car at my seatbelt does ride up on my neck. it really only bothers me when I have a t-shirt on, anything collard or a sweat shirt and I don't notice. probably going to get a set of these to put on the belt

I agree with bad 408 vert concerning the sport seats. My concern is not so much discomfort during every-day driving as it is what happens if you ever wreck and that seatbelt is too high up on your neck. Jammed up that high, they could cause some serious damage.

If you're not going to use the harness (which that seat is designed for), then consider the sport seat as an alternative.

I think the seat belt thing has more to do with after market seats not having the seat belt guide on them like the stock seats do.

That's one of the main reasons I decided to just reupholster my factory seats. My wife is 5'0" and got into a wreck many years ago. The seatbelt riding on her neck caused severe damage. She has now had two spinal fusions in her neck to help with the pain. We buy an adapter to reposition the seatbelt for her in any vehicle we have that won't adjust down to fit her properly now...

A booster seat isn't considered an adapter

The thing I hated about the stock camaro seats is the lumbar support on long drives is terrible. I was looking at getting t/a seats but finding a pair for a reasonable price is proving challenging. Plus, aftermarket seats look way better. I could always get the scroth harnesses, since they're dot approved.

I guess so lol I'll probably be picking these up shortly.

I will be doing a 6 or 8 pt cage at some point with harnesses, but will be keeping the factory seat belts for the street so I think those pads will be a big improvement in comfort of the belts for street driving.

I used to have the eBay racing seats and had the same problem.
I then went to firebird seats but they are old.
My next seat upgrade will be to corbeau sport seat.

Yes, the local LEOs might still pull you over, but then you can show them the 'street legal', NHTSA papers/certifications for those belts, which are the same grade as their full competition sanctioning body legal harnesses, save for have a full belt release at one time, center push button release mechanism on the cam lock, instead of a one at a time, lever release.

I may get these as well, since right now I am using those crappy, China made Bell FAKE 'microsuede' ones sold in Vato Zone for ~$8.00 each, which wear out and sun fade to purple in less than a month.
